San Diego has some of the best weather in all of the United States. This Southern California city has 70 degree weather pretty much every single day of the year –– it’s never too hot or too cold. The city is also famous for its year-round sunshine, mediterranean weather, and cool ocean breezes. It’s no wonder there are surfers on the beach all year round.

While it varies depending on your lifestyle, on average, San Diego has a very high cost of living. Some of the largest expenses that come from life in San Diego are housing, utilities, food, and transportation. There are a variety of neighborhoods in the city, many of which are affordable and popular with younger people.

San Diego has a lot of investors concentrated in the city. Many young people are attracted to the city and move here because of the variety of job prospects. Easy to Navigate
The easy navigation in the area is due to excellent planning of the city. There is a so-called lattice structure, which actually means the city has been designed to be accessible by a myriad of transportation: biking, walking, cars, and public transportation. There are numbered roads from north to south, and it is easy to remember that even roads head south and odd roads head north. From east to west the street names are alphabetically.
Amazing College Town
San Diego has excellent opportunities for higher education. The city has the University of San Diego, UC San Diego, San Diego State University. All three of them are massive universities with thousands of students. Many graduates choose to stand in the city and pursue opportunities in the dozens of industries that employ in the city. San Diego is also a super fun place to go to college, with lots of fun bars and fellow students to socialize with.
Safe & Secure
Despite the size of the city (the second largest in California), San Diego is much calmer than other major cities. San Diego has the lowest crime rate for a city of its size. It’s known to be an excellent place to raise children, both because of its incredible safety and its amazing public schools.
Mexico: the Next Door Neighbor
San Diego is only 17 miles away from the Mexican border. It’s super easy to take a vacation to Mexico or enjoy some of the incredible Mexican food on both sides of the border. There is a close cultural relationship between San Diego and Tijuana, the Mexican city located across the border.
Good Vibes All Around
Even after a long, tiring day at work, the city is still an amazingly uplifting place to live. Many cultural events and festivals take place in the coastal town. The most notable shows are the Día de los Muertos festival, Halloween, and the Comic-Con convention. They attract thousands of visitors from around the world. And that’s not all – San Diego has an open-air cinema, salsa dancing on the beach, and sunset jazz concerts.
