Brunch is by far the best meal of the day. Usually a special occasion saved for friends and family on the weekends, brunch allows you to enjoy the best of both breakfast and lunch. If you’re in Boston and roll out of bed late one Sunday morning and are craving the most delicious brunch in the city, keep reading to find the best places to eat.
Wait…what even is brunch?
Brunch, a combination of the words “breakfast” and “lunch,” varies dramatically depending on where you’re eating. Typically, restaurants and small eateries offer a brunch menu, sometimes available everyday but often reserved for a special day of the week, usually Saturday or Sunday.
It’s the perfect mix of breakfast and lunch:
- eggs benedict
- sandwiches packed full of the best meat and cheese that Boston has to offer
- fresh fruit
- cocktails that will make you try day drinking again (even if you’ve sworn it off forever)
As previously stated, it truly depends on which restaurant you go to.
At more expensive restaurants, you’ll find huge menus including:
- pancakes with chocolate chips or fruit
- toasted sandwiches with your personalized ingredients
- made-by-request omelettes, smoothies, frittatas
- sweet treats like tarts and parfaits
- and all the coffee, tea, and juice you’d ever need
Typically, brunch is served from around 11am to 2pm on the weekends. If possible, make a reservation, since most brunch places are packed at all hours.
